2025 Marshal Awards

At the Oulton Park Training Weekend 2026 we presented the BARC North Western Centre Marshal and Official Awards for 2025.

The awards were presented by Ray Sumner (Senior Clerk) and Margaret Simpson (Chief Marshal). The photograph shows Mark Michell receiving the Phillips Trophy from Ray. The recipients of the awards are listed below with a brief description of their achievements.

Phillips Trophy - Marshal of the Year

Awarded to Mark Michell

Mark is an active Post Chief, Marshal Assessor and Clerk of the Course for the North Western Centre CNC Heads Sports/Saloon Car Championship. In both roles he is calm, fair and considerate to the needs of others. He is well respected by colleagues both on and off track.

Sinclair Trophy – Off Track Marshal/Official

Awarded to Christina Serfling

Christina’s bubbly personality graces the Pit Lane and Start Line although she is equally happy to work as an Incident marshal. Christina is always willing to marshal in any of these roles when additional numbers are required. An excellent team member.

Ladies Trophy

Awarded to Penny Boon

Penny is a new, enthusiastic Registered marshal who experienced some high-level incidents last season. She impressed her marshalling colleagues and earned their respect by her willingness to learn and to continue learning working with the marshalling team.

Richard (Dick) Fraser Trophy - Post Chief or Trainee Post Chief

Awarded to Alan Skipp

There could only be one recipient for this trophy in 2025. Alan is a marshal who is making the transition from Flag to Post Chief. His confidence has grown steadily meeting by meeting, asking for feedback and always willing to learn. He is committed to the welfare of marshals on his post.

Regent Trophy - On Track Marshal

Awarded to Peter Jones

Marshals in both Incident and Flag roles to a very high standard. Predominantly in a Flag role last season and has experienced being part of the Chief Flag Team. An excellent role model for other marshals. Always keen to learn.
